Colleen is an Independent Educational Consultant. As a graduate of Brown University (BA, International Relations) and Simon Fraser University (PDP, Secondary Education), Colleen excels at counseling students who are applying to American, Canadian and UK universities. She brings more than 10 years of secondary teaching and 25 years of U.S. college interviewing experience to her practice and has visited over 150 colleges in order to get a feel for the culture and fit for her clients.
Colleen's emphasis is on reducing the stress and anxiety that has become a part of the college application process. She works with students to create a personal list of college requirements and helps them build a balanced list of schools to consider. In addition, she guides students through college visits, interviews, applications, essays and final decisions. Colleen believes the student should be in charge of the application process. Consultants and parents can play an important role by supporting the student's efforts and broadening their horizons.
Colleen's clients include NCAA athletes, visual artists, performing artists, musicians, LD students and academic superstars. She is a professional member of HECA (Higher Education Consultants Association) and NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling). Colleen lives in Toronto and has 2 daughters attending US colleges.
