Jann is an educator at heart. She started her professional career teaching Russian language, literature, and folklore at university level and leapt into college admissions. She is the first in her family to earn a college degree, and with her alphabet soup of degrees (A.A., B.A., M.A., Ph.D.), there’s enough to go around. She is passionate about college access for first-generation and underrepresented students. Her field of study is folklore, and she is always open to hearing jokes, legends, and other lore. Her research deals with the nasty stories and jokes that teens and pre-teens tell, as well as memes. She is the mother of a college first-year student and can crochet just about anything.
